60 - 65 % Postal votes cast on first day

 
Between 60 - 65 per cent of the total eligible postal voters had cast their votes for the Parliamentary Election by noon yesterday (Mar.25), election monitors said.

Casting of postal votes commenced yesterday morning and it will continue until this evening.

The Elections Secretariat has made arrangements for those who are unable to cast their votes on these days to do so on April 8, the day of the Parliamentary Election.

According to the Election Secretariat, Over 400,000 public servants are eligible for the postal voting for the upcoming Parliamentary Election.
