Election monitors arrive in SL 

 

A team of sixteen election monitoring officers from Asian Network for Free Election will arrive in Sri Lanka today (April 1) according to the request of the PAFFREL Organization.

This group will be divided into eight groups and they will start the process of observation from April 04. Particularly, this group will be deployed in districts in the North and East, the Government Information Department stated.

Candidates from 36 political parties and 306 Independent Groups are contesting at the forthcoming General elections. 7,620 candidates are contesting in the forthcoming general elections, Daily News reported.
