President inspects new World Cup venue

 

Sri Lanka is constructing another international stadium for the next year’s World Cup. Earlier this week, President Mahinda Rajapaksa inspected the International Cricket Stadium which is coming up in Suriyawewa.

The President inspected the construction work and discussed with the construction engineers. He gave instructions to the relevant authorities to expedite the work. Several matches of the 2011 World Cup are expected to be staged at this ground.

President of the “Tharunayata Hetak” Association Namal Rajapaksa and Colonel Chanaka Ratnayake who is the Coordinator and the advisor in charge of the construction, accompanied the President.
