Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan arrived in Sri Lanka today (Apr. 20). During his brief stay he will call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Mr. Bachchan is in Sri Lanka to participate in a media awareness programme on the IIFA 2010 awards ceremony of the International Indian Film Academy. The festival is to be held in Sri Lanka on June 3, 4 and 5.

Sri Lanka Tourist Board sponsors the event that is to be held with the patronage of Bollywood stars.

The IIFA will hold several activities in Colombo during the IIFA Weekend including an international fashion show, film festivals, gala celebrity events, business conferences, and the main event- the award ceremony which will be held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.
