Samurdhi Headquarters in Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat has successfully completed over 120 Samurdhi projects assigned to Kelaniya in 2009, to raise the living standards of Samurdhi beneficiaries.

Under this programme they have carried out 21 Samurdhi projects providing infrastructure facilities costing Rs.6,350,715. The Sri Lanka Samurdhi Authority has allocated Rs.4,745,964, while Samurdhi beneficiaries have voluntarily contributed their service for these projects.

Another 76 projects were also carried out in Kelaniya to distribute kitchen utensils, sewing machines and equipment for cultivators which cost Rs.1,192,407.

In the meantime, 19 houses have been built under the Samurdhi Housing Development Projects which cost Rs.1,115,000.
