SriLankan airlines resume flights to Europe

SriLankan Airlines resumed its flights to London, Paris and Milan yesterday (21) following the lifting of restrictions by the European Organizations for the Safety of Air Navigation, EUROCONTROL.

SriLankan Airlines operated flights to Paris and Milan yesterday morning and flights to London re-commenced last evening.

The Airline is waiting for confirmation from EUROCONTROL, the Brussels based airline traffic safety agency, to operate flights to Frankfurt. Services to Rome were not affected and are continuing as scheduled.

The SriLankan Airlines is planning several additional flights for the convenience of passengers whose travel was disrupted. However, the Airline recommended the passengers book on its European flights, checking with the airline before proceeding to the airport.

The airline said the passengers of all cancelled SriLankan flights to Europe from April 15 due to the disruption by volcanic eruption will be informed of their new flight details once the affected European airports are open for normal operation and all such passengers will be provided with adequate notice to get to the airport.

The SriLankan Airline said it will waive cancellation and change fees for confirmed tickets to and from Europe.
