Vanni residents are now having access to 24 hour medical services at government hospitals in Kilinochchi, Mulankavil, Mannar, Thalaimannar, Pesalai and Mallavi.

According to Health Ministry sources restoration of health facilities within a year after defeating LTTE terrorism is a tremendous achievement, especially when the hospital facilities were severely damaged during the war time.

The OCHA too in its latest humanitarian update confirmed that people have access to 24-hour medical facilities at Pallai, Pooneryn, Uruththipuram, Veravil, Madhu, Adampan, Mankulam, Oddusudan, Nattakandal and Thunukkai government hospitals.
