9th APRSCP Conference in SL

 

The 9th Conference of the Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable consumption and production (APRSCP), the regional network of the professionals, academics and industrialists to promote Sustainable Consumption and Production in the region will be held in Sri Lanka from 10 – 12 June 2010.

The theme of APRSCP 9 will be “SCP; A Strategy to meet Global Challenges in Business and Industry”. The theme is selected considering the Global financial recession prevailed and its impact on Asian developing countries economically, environmentally and socially.

APRSCP’s mission is to provide leadership and support to enhance information flow and capacity building and strengthen public and private partnerships. APRSCP seeks to stimulate the promotion and implementation of sustainable consumption and production strategies and technologies in the region. It encourages the participation of all individuals and all national, regional and international organizations, in the promotion of sustainable consumption and production practices.

The membership includes all environmental professionals from all countries in the Asia Pacific region. The Board of Trustees of the organization consists members from Philippines, Australia, USA, Thailand, Malaysia, India, China, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia and Korea.
