The total number of IDPs in Menik Farm relief village is reduced to 66, 829 with the Government's expedited resettlement process.

Groups of IDPs are being resettled day by day. There will only be 49, 329 IDPs in Menik Farm by the end of this month, said Colonel Vadugodapitiya, Chief Co-ordinating Officer of the Competent Office for the IDPs.

Under this programme, 2000 IDPs were resettled in Marathimeipattu, Mullativu yesterday (May 10). 1400 IDPs will be resettled in Karachchi, Kilinochchi today (May 11) while another 700 IDPs will be resettled in Oddusuddan, Mullative on May 12, he added.

Meanwhile, the Government resettled 1728 IDPs in Kandaveli, Kilinochchi on May 09. 244 IDPs and 2030 IDPs were also resettled in Madu, Kandaveli and Kilinochchi respectively. 915 IDPs were resettled in Mullativu on May 6, the Chief Co-ordinating Officer further stated.
