Appropriation Bill and budget approval before July 22 |

The submission of the Appropriation Bill and obtaining approval for the budget 2010 will be before July 22nd since the approval for expenditure for this year under Constitutional Provision 150(3) has only been obtained up to the said date.
The Cabinet granted approval to a memorandum submitted by the President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Minister of Finance & Planning in this regard.
The budget will cover expenditure for the whole year which will include the amount approved to cover the period up to 22nd July 2010.
The total expenditure for this year will amount to Rs.1,780 billion.
The Appropriation Bill will be submitted to Parliament on June 08 and the Budget speech will be made on 29th June.
