IIFA Awards to unfold with glamour and care

Amidst the glitz and glamour of the film industry, International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) announced a special charity event which will focus on the welfare of the less privileged in Sri Lanka.

‘Habitat for Humanity’ is a significant feature of the IIFA Awards this year which will see Bollywood stars helping in raising funds to work on building homes in the north and east of Sri Lanka for those who had lost their homes due to the nearly three decades of terrorism in Sri Lanka.

Habitat for Humanity, a globally acclaimed charity in operation for 30 years, provides housing and other amenities for the homeless. It has built a number of homes for the impoverished and homeless around the world.

The IIFA weekend will run in Colombo from 3rd to 5th June with a Business Forum, Fashion Show, Cricket Match and a Film Work-Shop leading up to the main event the Awards Night 2010.
