Ex-LTTE child soldiers return home

The last batch of rehabilitated LTTE child soldiers, 108 boys and 90 girls were handed over to their parents yesterday.

“It was the wish of President Mahinda Rajapaksa that all ex-child soldiers of LTTE should be rehabilitated and given the opportunity to go back to their parents to resume normal lives,” Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe said.

There were 294 child soldiers and we had released 96 children back to their parents earlier,” he said.
