India Visa Application Centre in Kandy

The India Visa Application Centre (IVAC) of the High Commission of India was inaugurated in Kandy today (June 01).

The IVAC in Kandy is the third such centre established in Sri Lanka, the first two being Colombo and Jaffna. This will be operated by the VFS Global, who has been successfully running the India Visa Application Centre in Colombo since February 11, 2008 and in Jaffna from May 5, 2010.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the High Commissioner of India H.E. Ashok K. Kantha said that this initiative would benefit the people of Kandy and other areas of Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, apart from Kurunegala District of North Western Province. He added that this initiative on the part of the High Commission of India would offer several facilities for visa seekers.
