LTTE's international wing is still active although the terrorist outfit was eliminated from Sri Lanka, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said.

Speaking at the opening of the first security forces headquarters in Mullaitivu yesterday [21 June], the Defence Secretary said the LTTE however do not have the capabilities to wage a war again.

He called on the intelligent units of the Army and other security forces to be vigilant about organizations who are voicing their support for the outlawed terror organization.

"Security forces should concentrate on sustaining the peace they achieved after hardships and many sacrifices and have an important role to play to prevent Sri Lanka from going back to the Dark Age," he said.
