President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed eight President's Counsel with effect from May 19, 2010.

They are Mr. W. Dayaratna, Mr. Edwin Neville Joseph, Mr. Upali A. Gooneratne, Mr. Jayatissa De Costa, Mr. Suhada K. Gamlath, Mr. Jayantha Weerasinghe, Mr. S. Anil Silva and Mr. Nihara E. Rodrigo.

They will be taking oaths before the Chief Justice today (24).
