Srilankan Airlines will be resuming its services to Kochi from the next winter schedule of the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL).
“CIAL has been in consultations with the airline for sometime now and as of now, the plan is to operate three flights per week between here and Colombo and providing onward connections accordingly,” quoting the airport director A.C.K.Nair, The Hindu reported.
He also said that the airport had been receiving a large number of enquiries from the passengers as the demand for tourist connections and business connections between the two destinations were on the higher side.
“Sri Lanka is fast becoming a popular international tourist destination and the service is also expected to cater to the combined tourist packages connecting it with the various destinations of Malaysia or Singapore,” the Airport Director said.
The airline had operated five services per week in the Colombo-Kochi route with a flight every weekday but suspended its Kochi service in January last year owing to a re-fleeting process.
