Indian Stock Brokering Firm enters CSE

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka has granted license to the Indian Stock Brokering Firm Infoline (IIFL) becoming the latest stock brokering firm to enter the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).

The IIFL has obtained this license to enter the Colombo Exchange as part of the group's strategy to spread its presence in the South Asia region. The Sri Lanka Unit of the IIFL will be headed by Priyani Ratna-Gopal.

'IIFL are bullish on the Sri Lankan market's performance and have immediate funds available for investments from IIFL's own funds and there are many investors who want to enter the Sri Lankan market,' said the Head of IIFL's Sri Lankan unit, Priyani Ratna-Gopal.

India was one of several new brokers that were provisionally approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, she said.
