UK lifts travel restriction to North

 

The United Kingdom stated that it is no longer advising its citizens against travel to Kilinochchi, Mannar, Mullaittivu and Vavuniya.

Britain's Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) further states, ‘regarding to Jaffna Peninsula: there is free movement everywhere outside High Security Zones with a reduction in checkpoints around the Peninsula.

Operations to clear mines continue, particularly in the heavily mined area towards Elephant Pass, the FCO added.
