President Mahinda Rajapaksa sent his condolences to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the plane crash in Islamabad on 28 July adding, the news deeply grieved him and the people of Sri Lanka.

Following is the message:

The news of the tragic loss of life in a plane crash in Islamabad on July 28, 2010 has deeply grieved me and the people of my country.

On behalf of the Government and the people of Sri Lanka, I offer sincere condolences to the families who lost loved ones in this tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members of the victims and all the people of Pakistan who mourn this great loss.
