Rs.1319mn for ‘Samurdhi Gammana 3060’ project

 

The Government has allocated Rs.1319.54 for the ‘Samurdhi Gammana 3060’ Development Programme – 2010, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development.

The Programme expects to develop infrastructure facilities in selected 3060 villages under the direction of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Accordingly, projects to develop rural roads, construct bridges, culverts and buildings will be carried out. Projects on drinking water, irrigation and power will also be initiated.

4522 such development projects are to be carried out in the selected 3060 villages under this programme. These include 2214 projects for emergency infrastructure development programme, 2273 projects for development of livelihoods and 35 projects for special tasks.

The Director General of Samurdhi Authority said that 874 of the projects have been completed so far.
