Yunnan Governor in SL

 

Governor of the Yunnan Province of China Qin Guangrong arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (31 Aug) on a three day visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne.

The Governor of Yunnan is accompanied by a delegation comprising senior officials and businessmen. The Chinese delegation arrived in Sri Lanka by the maiden flight of China Eastern Airways.

During the visit, Governor Qin Guangrong will call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne, while meetings will also be held with the Ministers of External Affairs, Economic Development, and Public Management and Reform.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Business Forum at the Hilton today in collaboration with BOI, EDB and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau at which the Yunnan business delegation will have an opportunity of meeting the Sri Lankan business and corporate sector.

Memorandums of Understanding between Yunnan Province and counterparts in Sri Lanka on Tourism, Education, Agriculture and Telecommunication will be signed during the visit.
