World Spice Food Festival concludes

 

‘The World Spice Food Festival 2010,’ an initiative of Sri Lanka Tourism concluded marking another successful food festival.

Held for the fifth consecutive year with a tremendous success, WSFF attracted over 30,000 people to the pinnacle of the event, “Hawkers Street”, at green path.

The streets were colorfully decorated with entertainment by popular bands and cultural performances creating a total carnival atmosphere in addition to an array of international spice cuisine with 16 foreign chefs in action, stated the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

Food stalls were stemmed with foreign tourists and Sri Lankans queuing up at the stalls to savor delectable varieties of cuisine from countries such as India, South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippine, Italy, Vietnam, Egypt, Singapore, China, Korea, and Sri Lanka.

Another highlight of the event was the live demonstrations by the master chef Kollu and the Spice Crab Cooking Competition.

World Spice Food Festival-2011 will be held again in July next year.
