Development should fulfill public aspirations - President

 

Development should fulfill public aspirations and the public should be satisfied with the facilities they enjoy, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said yesterday (12).

The President made this statement at a ceremony held in Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha to declare open the newly constructed administrative building at a cost of Rs.28 million.

The first phase of the new building consists of a new conference hall, the main administrative center, Hanwella sub-office and a committee office.

The President also said that the government had identified the public needs and would working hard to fulfill them.

The President reiterated the promise to provide electricity to every household in the island as mentioned in the Mahinda Chintana Policy manifesto. He said that the constructions of Norochcholai and Upper Kothmale power plants were accelerated to meet this end.

The President also highlighted that the harbor expansion projects in Colombo, Galle, Kankasanthurai and Oluvil are successfully underway together with the Hambantota new harbor construction project.
