Foreign investors eye Magampura harbour

Foreign investors are showing interest to invest in the Magampura harbour where construction is nearing completion.

Magampura harbour will have investments from prominent foreign investors who recently visited the harbour.

They will have many opportunities as the harbour premises are spread over 2000 hqs and will facilitate the operation of 33 ships at once. The Sri Lanka Ports Authority has identified two areas near the harbour premises for investment opportunities.

In the second phase, there will be investment opportunities for production, storage and packing of cement and fertilizer, delivering of L. P. gas, a factory for wheat flour, and storage and packing of food, said Ports Authority Chairman Dr. Priyath B. Wickrama.

Factories will be established for these tasks near the harbour premises, he said.
