Over 400 ex-LTTE combatants who have successfully completed their rehabilitation programme will be released today. (September 30).

An official ceremony to mark their release is to take place in Vavuniya under the patronage of the Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms, Mr. DEW Gunasekara at the Cultural Center, Vavuniya.

These ex-combatants were trained in various fields in keeping with their skills and talents while being rehabilitated at the rehabilitation centers in Vavuniya. In addition, they were given industrial training in their respective fields as well, the Ministry of Defence said.
