Sri Lanka seen from the eyes of a Chinese

"Sri Lanka, My Love" photographic exhibition by Chinese journalist Liu Yongqiu, a correspondent of the Xinhua News Agency, opened on October 2 in Colombo with the participation of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapksa and Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Yang Xiuping.

The exhibition, which is the first by a Chinese journalist, featured 60 photos on Sri Lanka's natural beauty, rich culture, major events and its people.

"We are used to see photos of Sri Lanka taken by local photographers, but we have very rare chance to see Sri Lanka from the lens of foreigners, especially from a journalist of a friendly country. From her photos, we see a new Sri Lanka," said Minister Rajapaksa.

Chinese Ambassador Yang Xiuping said "this is the first photo exhibition by a Chinese correspondent held in Sri Lanka, and we are quite proud of that."
