Town
development projects underway |

The Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils has implemented four town development Projects to develop Hakmana, Dehiowita, Horana and Pallepola towns, at a cost of Rs.1, 390 million.
The Hakmana Town Development Project, the largest of these projects is nearing completion and the construction of the part of the facilities including a building for the Hakmana Pradeshiya Sabha, built at a cost of Rs.60 million has been completed.
Under this project all roads are being widened and carpeted, and new markets, bus stand and other facilities are being constructed which is due to complete by the end of this year. The total cost of the project will amount to Rs.4 million. In addition to government expenses, several philanthropists connected to the area have also come forward to construct public utilities in the area.
Similarly Dehiowita, Horana and Pallepola projects are being undertaken to improve infrastructure development activities and building modern towns in these areas, thereby improving administrative service and commercial potential in these three modern towns.
