New Govt after Nov 19 - President

 

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said a new Government will be sworn in after November 19 to take the country towards development.

He made this statement at a meeting with Trade Union representatives at Temple Trees yesterday (12).

He added that the country will reach a crucial juncture from which it will lead to development with the start of his second term of office in November.

He said the assistance of the trade unions and the people of all communities are a prerequisite to achieve the developmental goals of the country. President Rajapaksa stressed that a disciplined society is a cornerstone in the path towards a developed country. He said the contribution of the working people is essential for the creation of a law-abiding generation.

He hailed the working people who have a clear understanding on the current situation in the country. The President added that the Government succeeded in spearheading the country towards development after the end of the 30 year protracted war.

President Rajapaksa added that a road map to achieve the country’s development goal has already been planned . He stated that the Government has comprehensive plans under which the power requirement of the country can be fulfilled for the next 20 years.

He was of the view that trade unions play a pivotal role for a stable Government service and every one should receive the benefits from it.
