Projects to boost Estate Sector

 

Over 200 projects have been implemented by the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Community Development to provide infrastructure facilities of the Estate Sector, since 2006, at a cost of over Rs.800 million.

The projects for the benefit of 4167 families and 1150 students include supply of electricity and water, road development, renovation of school buildings and other school projects, development of religious places and cultural centers, sports projects, health and sanitary projects, skills development, and construction of common amenities.

Accordingly, over 100 million has been spent on 34 skills development project which benefited 850 families. 44.6 km of roads and pavements have been constructed and renovated at a cost of over Rs.116 Million benefiting 1,680 families.

Also, over Rs.96 Million has been spent to implement 55 projects for the benefit of 1,150 students. Five electricity projects have been implemented at a cost of Rs.6.5 Million which benefited 50 families. Over 15 million have been spent to implement water supply projects.18 projects have been implement to improve sports facilities.
