– Chinese special envoy

Magampura Port is a new symbol of friendship between Sri Lanka and China. This was possible because of the personal commitment and attention by leaders from both the countries, stated special envoy to the President of PR China, Sang Guowei who is also the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of PR of China.

Sri Lanka is a shinning pearl in the Indian Ocean. With diligence and wisdom of its people, Sri Lanka is embarked on a road of rapid economic development, he stated adding, under President Mahinda Rajapaksa's guidance, the people of this country will seize the opportunity to build a prosperous Sri Lanka.

'Sri Lanka and China are friendly neighbours though we are geographically located far from each other. Our hearts beat in unison. Past leader in Sri Lanka and China have laid a firm foundation for a solid friendship between our countries', he further said.

The port, which creates ample business opportunities, will promote the economy of Sri Lanka and the benefits will go to the people of this country, Mr. Sang said emphasising, 'China is always committed to help the social and economic developments in Sri Lanka'.

Lets work together to carry our friendship from generation to generation, he stressed.
