Indian PM felicitates President

 
Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has extended the felicitations and good wishes of the Government and the people of India to President Mahinda Rajapaksa on his assumption of office for a second term.

In a letter addressed to the President, the Prime Minister said that he was confident that President Rajapaksa’s second term in office would usher in a new era of peace, reconciliation and development for the people of Sri Lanka.

The Prime Minister also said that he looked forward to working with President Rajapaksa to further strengthen the multifaceted relations between India and Sri Lanka to the mutual good of the two countries.
