Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has reduced call charges and phone rentals. It has also offered reductions for customers who chose packages with broadband and IPTV bundled together with voice services.
There will be no start up fee for residential customers and the rental for fixed lines has been reduced from Rs.345 per month to Rs.310, a statement issued by the SLT said. For business customers too there will be no start up fee, and the monthly rental has been reduced from Rs.950 to Rs.499. The call rates, however, would vary depending on whether calls are made within the SLT network, or to other networks; whether the package is voice only or with broadband and IPTV; and the time during which the calls are made.
This has also extended the number of off-peak hours from 63 hours to 101 hours and peak hours have been reduced to 67 hours, from 105 hours of earlier.
Under this new plan, calls made by business customers for calls within the SLT network Rs.1.90 per minute will be charged for calls up to three minutes and Rs.2.90 per minute for calls to other networks for voice only calls.
The statement also said that those with broadband and IPTV services bundled into their packages are offered lower rates.
