Lankan troops give gifts to Haiti children |

Sri Lankan troops serving the UN Peace Keeping Missions (SRIBAT) marked Christmas by giving gifts to underprivileged local populace in Haiti.
Over 200 children and several adult families were given gift parcels and Sri Lankan sweetmeats by the Sri Lankan troops during a special ceremony on the Christmas night.
SRIBAT troops, deployed in different places in Haiti also distributed gifts among low income groups. SRIBAT troops also visited orphanages and adult homes in the area and gave away gift parcels. Special Carols were also sung at these venues marking the religious importance of Christmas.
Meanwhile, the SRIBAT headquarters managed to erect a new washroom complex for the convenience of SRIBAT troops. The entire construction was pursued by soldiers of the Sri Lanka Engineer Service Regiment and Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment serving the UN mission.
