President brings relief to NCP flood victims


President Mahinda Rajapaksa made a special visit to observe the flood affected areas in the North Central Province today (12 Jan) where he met flood victims from Kirimatiya, Weliela, Pansalgodalla in the Lankapura area, Hingurakkgoda at Galamuna Maha Vidyalaya. The President discussed their problems and distributed relief items.

President Rajapaksa also met government officials at Ananda Balika national school, Hingurakkgoda and instructed them to expedite the relief work treating it as an essential service, and to be constantly in touch with the people and look to their needs.

Minister of Health Maithreepala Sirisena and other Minister were present.

Due to adverse weather conditions, the President's scheduled visits to the East were canceled.
