The Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) has postponed its sittings planned in the Ampara District for this month.

LLRC Secretary S.P. Athugoda told media that the Commission had decided to postpone sittings in the Ampara District due to the floods experienced in the area and the displacement of civilians in the district.

The LLRC sittings in Ampara were scheduled to take place from January 21 till 25. According to Athugoda, a new date would be set by the Commission.

The LLRC is to hold sessions in the Anuradhapura District from January 28 till the 30th.
