Chief of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Pradeep Vasant Naik arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (January 16) for a four-day official visit.
He was received at the Bandaranaike International Airport by Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke.
The Indian Air Chief is expected to call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Minister of External Affairs, the Defence Secretary, and Commanders of the combined forces. He is also scheduled to visit the Flying Squadrons of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The Indian delegation accompanying the Inidan Air Chief comprised Air Coordinator, Air CommodoreVivek Ram Chandhari, Squadron Leader Sangeeth Kathait (ADC) and spouse of the Indian Air Chief, Madam Madhubala Naik.
Air Chief Marshal Naik was commissioned to the Indian Air Force on 21 June, 1969 and is a qualified and vastly experienced flying instructor and a fighter combatant leader.
