Assistance to Northern schools


The government recently provided materials to schools in North with the aim of providing the school children with their needs.

Accordingly, sports materials were provided for 8 schools under the decentralized budget, at a function held at Alayawalai Tamil Mixed School in Wadamaratchi East, under the patronage of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Ministry.

The Ministry allocated Rs.9, 50,000/- for furniture and funds for the distribution of boiled eggs to the children during interval to improve their health.

The Ministry also took steps to issue CDMA to 30 pre-schools which are functioning in resettled villages at present, in order to let the principals to be in touch with the education office.

A request letter outlining the educational requirements of the area was handed over to the Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Mr. Douglas Devananda, at the function.
