Deyata Kirula:
Mega development projects implemented


The government has implemented mega development programs to upgrade infrastructure facilities in Moneragala district where this year's Deyata Kirula exhibition is to be held.

The exhibition held every year for a week to coincide with Independence Day will be held from 4th to 11th February 2011 at Buttala in the Moneragala district.

The organizing committee of the Deyata Kirula exhibition said that the government has implemented a massive development programme in the Moneragala District in connection with the Deyata Kirulka programme under the theme of "let's create a new Wellassa".

Chairman of the committee Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that several development projects at a cost of Rs 15 billion have been earmarked for the entire district.

The government plans to complete several infrastructure facilities needed for the livelihood of the people in the district before the event. The infrastructure development projects slated for the district includes renovation of irrigation tanks and reservoirs, roadways, hospitals and other common facilities.
