Family Health Services Officer G D Lalitha Padmini who represented Sri Lanka at a competition in Bangkok, Thailand was selected as one of the World's 10 best Health Personnel who provided Primary Health Services to the people in remote areas.

The World Health Organisation and Triple AAAH Organisation together with the Global Health Workforce Alliance selected the 10 best Health Workers who provided the best primary Health Services to the people.

Padmini was selected as the first in the Asian Region and also the first in the South East Asian region, and competed in the final world competition in Thailand.
