President meets flood victims


President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Rabewa area in Anuradhapura today (9 Feb) to look into the well-being of the flood affected people.

He discussed their problems and said he will instruct the government officials in the North Central Province to take all appropriate measures to expedite the relief work.

34 out of the 38 Grama Niladari divisions in Rabewa have been affected by floods. 607 families and 2097 individuals were affected. These people were sheltered in 10 welfare centres at Rabewa.

President Rajapaksa instructed the government officials to expedite the relief work.
