According to Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau, the Ministry of Defence of Bahrain had asked from foreigners to limit their arrivals to that country only for most essential needs.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka will not permit the agencies to send employees to Bahrain until the political situation normalizes.

Around 40,000 Sri Lankans are employed in Bahrain.
