The Ministry of Power and Energy is to broaden the use of re-generating power, in collaboration with Czechoslovakia.
Accordingly, a discussion was held between the Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka and Czechoslovakian High Commissioner Miloslav Stasek recently.
The Minister emphasized the importance of using re-generating power such as wind, hydro and solar powers. He stated that it would be a timely solution for spending a lot of money on fuel powers.
The Czechoslovakian High Commissioner stated that he would take action to contribute to expand the capacity of hydro power plants in Sri Lanka. We also intend to follow Sri Lanka’s preservation methods in developing power and energy in Czechoslovakia, he added.
