American schools to SL

 
Universities in Sri Lanka will be awarded with 10, 200 scholarships for distance learning of English by the US.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday (Feb 22) between the Higher Education Ministry and the United States Embassy in Sri Lanka to empower English language proficiency of undergraduates in Sri Lanka.

University students and lecturers will have the opportunity to follow the English course conducted by the ‘English First – English Town’ institute in America through distance learning.

Opportunities will be provided to undergraduates who qualify from a basic English course conducted by the universities.
