The United Kingdom announced a further £100,000 (approximately Rs.18 million) for flood relief efforts in the country.
The announcement was made by FCO Minister for South Asia, Alistair Burt during his two-day visit to Sri Lanka.
This is in addition to the Rs.200 million UK funding already channeled for flood relief efforts through multilateral and bilateral partners.
The Minister said: “The recent flooding in Sri Lanka has caused great hardship to the communities affected, particularly those still recovering from conflict. I am pleased that the UK is able to offer financial assistance to help communities rebuild their livelihoods.”
