A programme will be launched to cultivate vegetables and other subsidiary crops in 1000 acres in the North and Eastern Provinces, with the aim of producing high quality vegetables.

The inauguration of this programme will be held at the Mannai Weditalathiv Camp on 26th February, under the patronage of Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa Abewardana.

This programme, conducted by 'Hadabima' Authority will cultivate around 50 acres and the Army and Civil Security Forces will be the labour force for this task.

Vegetables will be planted using organic farming methods and organic manure.
