More Lankans arrive from Libya

The government yesterday (6) brought back another 186 Sri Lankans stranded in Libya, the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) said.

The government has chartered a flight to evacuate the Sri Lankans stranded in Libya due to the political turmoil there.

The SLBFE has appointed a committee to coordinate evacuations round the clock with the External Affairs Ministry, the government said.

Foreign workers in Libya continue to flee to neighboring countries as protests against the Libyan Leader Colonel Muammar Al-Gaddafi and the crackdown on protesters continue in several cities throughout Libya.
