SL enters ICC World Cup quarter-finals |

Sri Lanka qualified for the quarter-finals of the Cricket World Cup following an emphatic 139 run win against Zimbabwe at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy yesterday (10).
Thillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga set a new opening wicket record of 282 runs which helped Sri Lanka to score 327 for 6 wickets.
Zimbabwe could only manage 188 runs in reply.
The result meant Sri Lanka, with seven points from five matches in Group A, became the first side to enter the last eight.
New Zealand, with six points from four matches, Pakistan (six from four) and defending champions Australia (five from three) are certain of filling the three other qualifying places from the group.
Sri Lanka now faces New Zealand, which is Sri Lanka’s last match in its Group, in Mumbai on March 18.
The R. Premadasa Sadium, Colombo is to hold the match between Pakistan and Australia on 19 March while 2 quarter-finals and one semi-final will be played in the same venue.
