President calls for uninterrupted SL-Japan air travel

President Mahinda Rajapaksa instructed the Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, Mr. Nishantha Wickremasinghe to carry out air travel between Sri Lanka and Japan without interruption.

It is learnt that many countries in the world have temporarily halted air travel to Japan due to the earthquake and tsunami which hit the country.

However, President Rajapaksa has instructed officials to extend all possible support to Japan for its recovery as Sri Lanka is a close friend of Japan with excellent bilateral ties.
