Good to have experienced Opposition Leader – President

 
It is good for a country to have an experienced Leader of the Opposition, stated President Mahinda Rajapaksa responding to a question, during a meeting today (25) with editors of print and electronic media, on his congratulating UNP Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe on his re-appointment as party leader.

It is good for democracy in a country to have an undivided opposition, President Rajapaksa further stated.

He added both the country and the government could benefit through the experience of a good Leader of the Opposition.

President Rajapaksa earlier this week congratulated Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe on being reappointed as the Leader of the UNP and also extended best wishes for his birthday.
