First container vessel docks at Magampura harbour

 

A Vessel carrying 2850 containers had entered the Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa International Port Yesterday (28).

Registered in Singapore this vessel ‘Vanhai 502’ is 269 metres in length. It had docked at the Magampura Harbour on its way to Colombo from Malaysia while two more ships were expected on April 30 and May 1, Minister of Ports and Highways Rohitha Abegunawardena said.

Water filling in the Magampura Harbour basin was inaugurated on 15th August 2010.
